I was driving the other day and out of nowhere I was flooded with questions of thankfulness. Jesus, have I thanked you for the sunshine today? Father, did I say thank you for my family? God, did I thank you for my job? Did I thank you that you have given me this day of life? Lord, did I say thank you for what I’m wearing and that I had choices? Did I tell you today that I am so grateful for my salvation? It was like a bolt of lightning hit me.
Suddenly I was thanking God for everything. This was a moment in time where I was met with such humbleness and thankfulness for ALL that God has given to me and ALL He has done for me. I found myself praising God in that very moment. As I was driving, I entered a time of praise and thanksgiving, talking out loud to God. I began to look around and notice things I should be thankful for even while driving.
I have always tried to live with a spirit of gratitude, but this was a WOW moment. Had I missed something along the way?
Maybe you can relate to this. When is the last time you just said “thank you” to God for everything? If you stop just for a moment, you can look around wherever you happen to be and find so much to praise God for.
When we are praising God it is a lot harder to be filled with things of the flesh but rather be filled with things of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:19-26)
God deserves our praise, not just at mealtime or bedtime, but all day long.
Psalm 113:3, “From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised.”
Challenge for this week: Stop and look around, see if you notice something new to be thankful for.
I PRAY YOU HAVE A BLESSED WEEK

Fun fact: This is the sunrise on March 8, 2019 at 5:55 am from the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
