Have you ever been speaking to someone and you must ask if they are listening? My husband is far from soft-spoken and when he is sharing things with me, usually about sports, he often asks if I heard him. Of course I heard him. I heard him talking, but, was I listening?
Many times I may be distracted by what I am doing or focused on something else instead of listening. It is easy to become distracted when someone is talking to you, especially if it is something that you aren’t particularly passionate about. We can hear the words, but are we listening?
There is One that can hear every word and listens to every conversation. He knows every need, desire, hurt and request. You can tell Him things you wouldn’t tell anyone else. You can go to Him day and night. He is controlling the universe and all that is within it. Yet, He still can focus on you.
The God who places everything in order is never too busy to listen to you. He can control the world, hear a million prayers at once and still listen to everything you say.
I am thankful that I don’t have to wait in line, draw a number or be put on hold when I want to talk to the Lord. I am also grateful that He has the ability to listen no matter what else is going on.
Today, be encouraged knowing that you have a God who loves you, knows you and listens to you.
“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:12

Fun Fact: This picture was taken on March 7, 2019 at the Jordan River, the place where Jesus was baptized. It is such a beautiful river.
