You have probably been to a grocery store that has given out samples of new things to try. The samples vary. Maybe it was something for household use, a new snack bar or a food item. If you show up at the right time, you can sample a lot of new items and get a coupon before purchasing them. I know some people can go through the store and make a meal on samples.
People have been hired to entice you into buying their item of the day. According to them, it’s the best deal and the best product. They invite you to try their product for free.
We have been given a free invitation to taste and see that the Lord is good!
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8
In this verse, taste means to perceive or judge for yourself. This is an invitation for you to see that the Lord is good. An invitation to experience His goodness.
How do you do this?
First, you need a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
Secondly, you need to feast on His Word. You need to dive in, read, soak up, savor, ingest and digest the Word. The Bible says that the Word of God is sweeter than honey to my mouth.
“How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Psalm 119:103.
Third, spend time in prayer with the Lord. Praying doesn’t have to be hard or intimidating. Talk to Him, fellowship with Him, commune with Him. He longs to hear from you. You can trust Him; you can tell Him anything. You can talk to Him as a friend.
Today, I want to encourage you, wherever you are in your walk with Christ, each day is a new day. A few minutes with God and you will enjoy the benefits and sweetness that He offers. You will feel satisfied, full and longing for more.

Fun fact: This picture was taken on our trip to Israel. Every day we had a breakfast and dinner buffet at the place we stayed. We were able to taste and see a lot of local foods. God is so good to allow us to go on such a trip. We are forever grateful.
