Have you ever sent a text message that you wish you could retrieve? Or have you sent a text to someone that it wasn’t meant for? Maybe you didn’t proof your text before you hit “send”. I cannot tell you the number of times that I have been on the receiving end of texts like that or I have sent texts that don’t make any sense whatsoever.
It really is quite comical. I have received “Honey, I love you” that was intended for a friend’s husband. I’ve been sent grocery lists intended for someone else. I have answered questions that weren’t supposed to be asked of me.
On some days it seems I am involved in 50 ongoing texts. It can become complicated trying to answer each one precisely, timely and correctly. I’ll be responding to the wrong person or group and ignore someone by accident. With predictive texts I must be careful because it will write whatever it wants, and it isn’t at all what I was trying to say. In fact, sometimes, it seems completely out of character for me. I’m trying to do better at proofing, backspacing, correcting and checking the name to whom I’m sending. As comical as this is, it’s also good that I can edit the texts, even after they are sent if I catch them in time.
Today, I want to remind you that there was a perfect text message sent to us. It is unchangeable. When we read the message from God’s Holy Word, we know that it was sent to the correct person and that the message within is perfect. We don’t have to worry that it was sent to the wrong recipient. Every word was intended for all of mankind.
Within this text message there is redemption, hope, encouragement, strength, comfort, peace, joy, instruction and wisdom. The message that was read by my grandparents and parents still speaks truth today.
Today, I want to encourage you to be thankful that the author of God’s Word didn’t mess up like we do. His text is perfect, unchangeable and sent to the correct recipient, YOU.
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8
Today’s prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you so much for the truths of Your Word. Thank you that is unchanging and needs no correction. Thank You for loving me enough to send me such a powerful text to guide me in my daily life. In Jesus’ name. Help me to apply the truth within Your Word to find all that I need every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Fun fact: I love my Bible and it is marked up with notes and promises from God. He is so good to give me so much!
